The Hackamore Stud was founded in 1985 with two Dartmoor mares and the lovely old stallion Pumphill Beau Geste. Since then the numbers have grown! The ponies from Hackamore have competed in almost all disciplines from lead-rein to side-saddle, dressage to driving.

Visitors are always welcome and the ponies can be seen at the stud by appointment.

We have well handled young stock for sale often these “babies” have been shown at County level in hand. They are socialised and used to meeting visitors. We try to breed for type, temperament and above all movement.

In addition to the ponies we breed, we often have Dartmoor, Connemara and Shetlands for sale, broken or ready to break for the novice season.
